Description

Work within a supportive group in this workshop-style class that focuses on the many issues and challenges of painting. Weekly focus topics will be introduced and incorporated into class. Instructor feedback and responsive instruction in areas of interest are provided in an ongoing way. Individual pursuits are encouraged. Work in your choice of media* (watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed-media, pastel, other?). Ideal for students with a little experience or previously self-taught, as well as those wanting to try a new media.

Materials:

Students should bring their own usual painting materials to the first class.* We will discuss general materials questions and suggestions depending on individual situations. Keep in mind ease of portability

when choosing what to bring. Table-top easels and general room supplies are provided.

Students beginning a new medium may contact the instructor before the first class for recommendations.

*Due to room constraints, traditional oils must use odorless solvents and have special handling requirements. Please contact instructor for detailed requirements.
