Description

Certified Nursing Assistants are in high demand, Our CNA program will provide students with the required hours for Certified Nursing Assistant training, basic nurse aide skills, including classroom and clinical training.This program will prepare the students for the Prometric exam, which places successful candidates on the Connecticut Nurse Aide.This course is WIOA approved and approved for VA Benefits

Course fee includes Tuition, Textbook, Uniform and State of Connecticut Prometric Exam

(State of Connecticut requires 100 mandatory hours of training with instructor, additional hours if required will be charged separately at $40 per hour in addition to tuition.)

Any person who has successfully completed a Department of Public Health approved Nurse Assistant Program (CNA) meets the training requirements to be employed in Home Health Care.

Additional Notes

The State of Connecticut require Covid Vaccinations for students during the practical sessions and possible employment. The entry to these facilities is to complete the practical portion of the program.

 Students are required to have COVID Testing one week prior to the start of the class.

  • Prerequisites: 2 weeks Prior to attending the class, the student must have the following:

  • Proof of being 18 years or older prior to practicals

  • Social Security Number

  • Current seasonal flu vaccine (Oct 1- Mar 30)

  • Clearance from Medical Doctor/Professional to be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Proof of Negative TB results read within the last 6 months from the last day of class

  • Most recent COVID vaccination

  • An active email account.

  • High School completion or equivalent may be required for employment in this field.

 

There may be more vaccination prerequisites required in order to enter the rehabilitation facilities.  The entry to these facilities is to complete the practical portion of the program.  This will be updated as required.

Textbook, uniform and Prometrics Exam fee included


 

New London Adult Education receives training funding through The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA includes certain criteria that must be met in order ensure that a training provider offers the highest quality training services and is responsive to in-demand and emerging industries.

 

Eligible training providers will be required to report to CTDOL all applicable program performance and cost information for ALL individuals enrolled in a training program in the format prescribed by CTDOL including providing social security numbers. Social Security numbers will be required for registration.
