Description

This flexible learning program will provide students the skills necessary to work as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician, (CPT).  Students will learn the components of blood, possible complications of a blood draw, along with some basic Human Anatomy, proper drawing technique, and collection sequence.

Additional Notes

In order to complete this class it is a requirement to obtain 30 successful venipuncture collections and 10 capillary draws on living persons. These will be performed in class on fellow students and clinical volunteers.

This is an 80 hour hybrid course with 70 hours of online learning and 10 hours of in person clinical.

Upon successful completion of this course students will have the opportunity to obtain National Certification from the NHA if they successfully pass the exam.

Prerequisites : High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and a working computer. Students will need to show proof of up to date COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots. Equipment, Book, and Lab Fee, are included in the cost of tuition.
