Description

This professional bartending course includes the state and national SMART (Servers and Managers Alcohol Responsibility Training) certification recognized by the CT Department of Liquor Control and police departments. Servers of alcohol are taught to serve responsibly, how to spot signs of intoxication, and how to respond appropriately. Instruction focuses on opening and closing procedures, product knowledge, speed of preparation, and people skills. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be qualified to work in any environment that serves liquor. Students receive a certificate of completion and the SMART certification. Students must be 18 years old or older. No real alcohol is used.

Additional Notes

New London Adult Education receives training funding through The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA includes certain criteria that must be met in order ensure that a training provider offers the highest quality training services and is responsive to in-demand and emerging industries.

Eligible training providers will be required to report to CTDOL all applicable program performance and cost information for ALL individuals enrolled in a training program in the format prescribed by CTDOL including providing social security numbers. Social Security numbers will be required for registration.
