Description

Classes are conducted Monday thru Thursday. This intensive program is designed to provide a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. It will allow you to better understand signs, symptoms and emergency care. An anatomical and body system approach to physical exams will link conditions to assessment findings. This course will give you knowledge of the presentation of common medical conditions and traumatic injuries encountered in the pre-hospital environment. You will learn how to provide the most efficient and effective emergency care. Graduates of this program will satisfy licensure requirements from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as well as the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Service.

The Textbook and NREMT Practical Exam Testing fee are included in this course.

The NREMT Practical Exam for the Summer class will be held on August 3, 2024


 

Additional Notes

Prerequisites: Student must be 16 years of age prior to the end of the class. Proof of Tuberculosis (TB PPD) test results within 1 year from the end of the clinical end date, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) Tetanus,  Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) and Hepatitis B (Hep B). The COVID vaccination may be required by the organizations. Social security number.  

New London Adult Education receives training funding through The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA includes certain criteria that must be met in order ensure that a training provider offers the highest quality training services and is responsive to in-demand and emerging industries.

Eligible training providers will be required to report to CTDOL all applicable program performance and cost information for ALL individuals enrolled in a training program in the format prescribed by CTDOL including providing social security numbers. Social Security numbers will be required for registration.
